Vegetables on the ‘Group A’ cancer-causing list

The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed the vegetables with the highest risk of causing cancer, including a dish that is a favorite of many families

Pickled Cucumbers

Pickled cucumbers cause stomach and nasopharyngeal cancers. Studies prove it. The WHO says that eating a lot of pickles, salted eggplant, and salted meat can cause stomach and nasopharyngeal cancers because it increases the risk of stomach and duodenal ulcers. These ulcers can be caused by bacteria in the gut that cause stomach cancer.

Sprouted potatoes

Many families store potatoes in the refrigerator, but if they’re left for too long, they’ll sprout and produce toxic solanine. It will also persistently lodge in the liver, increasing the burden on its detoxification and increasing our risk of liver cancer.

Bean sprouts without roots

Many believe plump, white bean sprouts without roots are delicious and nutritious. But this type of bean sprout contains many chemicals, not nutrients. Studies show that chemicals from stimulants build up in bean sprouts, and they’re impossible to wash away. When the body absorbs them, they damage liver cells, leading to liver cancer.

Rotten or spoiled fruits

Cancer patients should avoid rotten or spoiled fruit, which can infect their weak immune system. These foods often contain bacteria and mold. Infections can complicate cancer treatment. Cancer patients should eat fresh, clean, and properly preserved fruit.

Chemically Soaked and Force-Ripened Fruits

Cancer patients should avoid chemically soaked or force-ripened fruits. Their growth stimulants poison the digestive system, causing mutations and accelerating cancer progression. These fruits’ chemicals can also irritate the stomach and intestinal lining, worsening the body’s fight against cancer.

Dried fruits whose quality is not guaranteed

Dried fruits that are not guaranteed in quality because they often contain mold, additives, and preservatives. Dried fruits are often soaked in sugar or fried in oil (dried sweet potatoes, bananas), which can cause weight gain, high blood pressure, and digestive issues. So, choose quality, low-oil dried fruits and ensure food safety.

Wax apples

Cancer patients should avoid wax apples due to the wax coating, which is made with chemicals that can harm the body especially when the immune system is weak from cancer treatment. These chemicals may interfere with cancer drugs, reducing effectiveness and causing unwanted side effects.
