Halo brows are another bizarre beauty trend that got its start on social media. Platforms like TikTok and Instagram have become the breeding ground for challenging traditional beauty norms.
Hannah Lyne, a 16-year-old British-born influencer, created the halo brow, a halo-like arc across the forehead that connects both brows in a loop. It went viral almost immediately.
Lyne introduced the fishtail brow design on Instagram, explaining that it was inspired by the trend.

In an interview with Pop Sugar, the beauty blogger clarified that it wasn’t a joke and that the “look was influenced by fishtail brows.”
“I was talking with a friend about ideas for a new look when I had an idea to connect my eyebrow tails,” she said.

Yahoo Style asked her more about her vision, and she said, “I want people to embrace being silly and doing weird, creative looks.”
‘Ridiculous’ Fad
Like many social media trends, the halo brow sparked a flurry of mixed reactions.
Instagram users loved the design, with one writing, “I love it!” and another, “Your looks are so original… Honestly your talent is endless!”

“How on Earth do you come up with your ideas? They’re so creative and you always execute them so well! You’re incredibly talented,” shares a third.
However, the majority of netizens were quick to dismiss the updated unibrow as a “ridiculous” fad.
“Vomits Uncontrollably,” writes one user in the comments section of Lyne’s Instagram post. “I can’t tell if she’s joking,” offers a second, while a third writes, “Instagram? More like Instaregret.”

Meanwhile, others said she looks “ridiculous,” and suggested they’re “deleting Instagram because of this photo.”
